RoosterMoney

RoosterMoney is a free pocket money app with an optional Visa debit card that helps parents teach their children about money in a digital age.

Simple, progressive and gameful, RoosterMoney brings to life all the sound traditional financial principles we were brought up with (or wish we were!) and makes managing money smart, relevant and fun.

From as young as four years old, you can award Stars in the app as a first introduction to the concept of earning and rewards. When they are ready, you can move them onto the Pocket Money Tracker that lets children keep track of their earnings, save towards goals, and develop good money habits, whilst parents oversee what money goes in and out - so you remain the Bank of Mum & Dad without having to make actual deposits. As the kids get older you can graduate them to real money with our Rooster Card, a Visa debit card with parental controls, giving them the independence to make considered choices about saving and spending in a safe environment.

RoosterMoney believes the best lessons are learned by doing. They encourage families to learn together so that parents can actively educate, motivate and empower their kids financially giving everybody the reassurance that they're fully prepared for the future.

In addition to the core features of the app there is a series of educational resources to help with financial education. You can read more about these in the Primer section on roostermoney.com

The kids love it. Its teaching them good life lessons for the future. Jane, mum of four

Got my young boy on the tracker without the card, and my older one on the card. He just saved up for his first pair of boots and bought it himself. Great life lessons along the way.  Ben, dad of two

He has learnt to prioritise his spending and not waste money as he can see where his money has gone (and how quickly!)  Simon, dad of two

When my children were clamouring for an Xbox, my husband and I agreed to match any money they raised. Reminding them how close they were getting to their goal helped them stop spending until they reached it.  Faith, mother and money blogger at Much More With Less
